Description
Chavant's CM-50 Industrial Hard Styling Clay is most often used by aerospace, automotive, marine, and consumer product designers. CM-50 is the softest of the Hard Styling Clays. Fine art sculptors typically use CM-50 Industrial Hard Styling Clay for fine detail work, where a firmer consistency is desired. Chavant's CM-50 is a sulfurated clay with exceptional adhesion and cohesion qualities. CM-50 can be carved, extruded and slicked to an extremely smooth surface. It is not, however, the ideal choice for studios desiring to machine clay, owing to its firmness at room temperature. It will mill successfully, though. CM-50, because of it's hard consistency, is normally heated to a temperature of 135 degrees F, but can be modeled or sculpted at room temperatures with the right tools and a bit of work. Note, however, that flexibility at room temperature is reduced. Also available in 40lb case quantity
